UGO/1UP is currently seeking contract based Information Architect to help develop a design document for the upcoming content and technical relaunch of the 1up.com website. The position will be responsible for performing a role in the research and design efforts for customer and user-facing systems and communications. This position will work directly with Editorial, Sales, Marketing and Development teams to develop strategies and design specifications that will improve the performance, usability and effectiveness of customer facing interfaces.
The successful candidate will bring substantial experience online website development, best practices from a design and user interface perspective and able to convey requirements from stakeholders into a concise technical requirements/wireframe document.
Responsibilities and Experience:
· Designing innovative and effective transaction interfaces for existing and new products and services
· Development of comprehensive wireframes and product specifications documents
· Aggressively responding to market and usability testing results, using mockups, prototypes, user flows, and detailed design specification documents to define and communicate interface concepts and requirements, ensuring consistency and ease of use 1up customers.
· Collaborating with product managers, designers, engineers, and a cross-functional business team including representatives from marketing, product management, engineering, quality assurance, and customers.
Requirements
· 4 or more years in user interface design with experience in designing usable web-based interfaces
· Translating user research findings into design decisions
· Distilling and organizing large amounts of complex information into simple, useful, and usable application designs
· Creating detailed design specifications
· Applying modular and systematic approaches to user experience design
· Designing navigation, interaction and nomenclature systems
· Proficiency with rapid prototyping tools such as PhotoShop, Snagit, Axure, Dreamweaver Director/Flash, Visio, etc
· Ability to work with business leaders in a consultative fashion
· Excellent written and spoken communication skills (both technical and non-technical)
· Understand business objectives and design applications that achieve them.
